usa customer updates
Last updated: 14 September 2025
As of September 2025, the U.S. has made some permanent changes regarding tariffs and the removal of de minimis. All shipments, regardless of value, are now subject to duties, taxes, and customs fees. Because of this, we won’t be adding US shipping back to the website checkout, likely at least until early 2026 — we want to see how the dust settles before we implement our system.
While you can't shop with us via our website, we are still able to help you through Instagram DM's (@oscars.tc).
how to shop from the united states
- Browse our website, switch the country selector to Canada (or another option) to see what’s in stock. If browsing from the US, our stock will show as sold out.
- DM us what you want, pics preferred, and once we receive your message, we will reserve the stock while we quote your delivered price, including shipping, brokerage, duties, and taxes and any other fees. This ensures no surprises at customs.
- If that feels like too much, no worries, you’re free to pass, we don’t bite. Just keep in mind it takes time and effort for us to prepare a quote, so please consider that before enquiring.
heads up...
Buying as a customer shipping to the USA isn’t just the item price + shipping — duties, tariffs, taxes, and customs handling can sometimes double the total cost. A $50 shirt could end up $100+ by the time it reaches you.
Why it can get expensive:
- Shipping starts at approx. $25 USD
- Duties are charged (variable, at cost)
- Taxes are charged (variable, at cost)
- Border agency inspection fee (variable, at cost)
-
5% disbursement fee per consignment
- Admin fees etc.
Tariffs vary by item type and country of manufacture (not where it ships from). Some items may have 0% tariffs (like Made in USA items, toys + books); others (like clothing) can be 30% or more depending on category and condition.
can you send it as a gift?
No, we can't use the “gifts under $100” loophole; as a business, we ship with a commercial option, not as a private individual, therefore, the option is not available to us due to the strict rules are in place to qualify as a genuine gift for US Customs and Border Protection.
Even if gifts were allowed, brokerage and customs inspection would still apply, and you may need to prove the item’s value.
If you have a trusted proxy outside the USA, they can receive items locally and hand them to you in person — or, at your own risk, attempt to send it as a gift on your behalf.
